The label MADE IN CHINA not only presents information of its country of origin, it is also a metaphor for the diverse and complex relationships among consumers, commodities and labourers in a globalised context. Many assume that MADE IN CHINA products are cheap and low quality to cut costs. However, this is only part of the story. Under the chaotic facade, there is a lack of understanding for the other perspective. The production of assumption and prejudices covers the real differences among individuals. Based on these complex paradoxes, this project uses short film to chronicle the multiple dialogue that tell the story about what is behind the label of MADE IN CHINA, showing barriers and assumptions between consumption and production as part of the globalisation.
